ONE NIGHT STAND PT2.
Pacing up and down the room, Tola was furious, who could that girl be? she cursed herself for not waiting to see who the girl was, she couldn't even believe that David was cheating on her, why would he cheat on her? She kept wondering what David and the girl would be doing, was he kissing her? would he fondle her breasts like he always did hers? was the girl moaning or not? was she pretty or just there? she imagined her boyfriend on the other girl, a faceless body kept coming up in her mind under David, she didn't know what she looked like, if she was light skinned or dark skinned. Opening the bottle of Vodka in front of her, she gulped some of its content, she was tense, she was jealous, she couldn't think straight. She felt she should have stayed to see who the other girl was but she knew that would have resulted to a big quarrel between David and her or probably the other girl and that was something she didn't want, she has never had a reason to fight over a boy, not that she considered her two previous relationships as serious though.
Her first boyfriend, Peter was a bookworm and never had time for girls let alone another girl, they actually broke up when he checked his result in 200L second semester and saw he had a D in one of his courses, he kept complaining that it was because he was coming to visit her in her hostel that made him fail, she wasted no time in ending the relationship, she too was tired of having to always visit him in his common room. Dami's school boyfriend then lived off campus and during the weekend, she would go there, there was this belief that the "big boys" lived off campus, so when Peter brought up the result issue, she helped the both of them by ending it. Thinking of her second relationship, the one with Temi, she laughed remembering how that one ended too.
"Hey pretty"came a sleek voice behind her. Turning round , she came face to face with a cute dark skinned boy. "Hi" she replied returning his handshake and smile.
"I'm Temi, nice to meet you" he said still smiling, replying him, she kept wondering why he kept smiling, Temi was a fun kind of person and they talked about a lot especially the Manchester United sticker on her bible. Feeling relieved at meeting Temi, she felt she had a new friend in her new church, Temi who was also new in the church decided to join the ushering department while she stuck to her floor member group, sincerely to her she had enough stress in Engineering to last her for all her years as a student and she wasn't ready to add another commitment. Months went by and Temi asked her to be his girlfriend, not that she didn't expect it, she agreed to date him and the duo started their romance. Coming from his off campus hostel every saturday to her school hostel, Temi would always buy her beverages and they would sit down for hours in her common room gisting, she was now in the league of girls who had boyfriends living off campus and it wasn't long before she started going for weekends in Temi's room.
Driving into the school premises, one could see different students who just resumed. It wasn't unusual to see different cars parked in front of the school hostel, Tola had just resumed 400L first semester, the only semester she was spending in school that session, looking scattered as she came down from her father's car and bade them farewell back home, the slender light skinned girl brought out her phone to make a call
"Hey sugar, I'm in school now o, I will soon come and collect my things in your room" she said grinning, her grin was replaced with a frown as she looked at her phone. Weeks passed, lectures had started, she hardly saw Temi unless on sundays when they met at church, he was always occupied with one church activity or the other during the weekdays and on saturdays, he had meeting with the ushers, he hardly came to see her and when she goes to his room, she would be alone for hours, she complained a few times but he kept apologizing, they haven't had sex before and she was okay with that arrangement as she never planned to sleep with anyone while in University, she heard most relationships ended at the school gate, she and Temi used to kiss a lot and make out prior to his becoming a leader, she missed those days and times, the new Temi was always speaking in tongues and she sincerely didn't know if it was a good thing or bad thing for her. She had noticed Temi's closeness to one fresher in the church, Amara was a beautiful girl and had a cute gap tooth, several times she would see Temi and her together, she felt they were both ushers and it was expected of them to be close, what did she care after all, Temi was just too spiritual for her liking. Soon she started hearing from other 'sisters' in the church that Temi said he was single and that she was forcing herself on him, she didn't want to believe it so she brushed it off.
Looking very beautiful in her new hairstyle, a pair of jean and T-shirt, she walked into Temi's hostel to see him, she wanted to surprise him with the jollof rice she made and also tell him how much she had missed him, she got to the door, it was locked but Sinach's 'More of you' was palying at the background so she knew Temi was in, instead of knocking, she used her key.

"This is past six, I left his apartment around Three so he has finished with the other girl shebi?" she hissed and gulped down more vodka. Picking up her phone, she texted David telling him to delete her numbers and forget about their relationship. Breaking up with any asshole has never been a problem for her but this one made her feel stupid, she knew she loved David and for crying out loud, this was four years of her life, she made to call him back but stopped as she heard the knock on the door.
Almost tripping over the stool in front of her as she anxiously ran to the door, she stopped at the door to adjust her dress and wear a nonchalant look so David doesn't think she felt stupid or remorse for sending him the text.
"please don't break my door I'm coming" she said nonchalantly, opening the door, the disappointment on her face couldn't be hidden as David wasn't the one in front of her.............................to be continued tomorrow :)
