ONE NIGHT STAND PT1.
Rolling over to the other side of the bed, Tola lazily rubbed her eyes as the rays of the sun fell on her face, opening her eyes, she sat up almost immediately as she noticed she wasn't in her room neither was this her bed. waiiiiiiit..........w.....hat's goin on, the sharp headache she felt came as a response to her question, reminding her of all that happened the last 24hours...........

Tola closed quite early today from work, she was going to see her boyfriend directly from the office, they needed a lot to talk about, of recent the duo were always quarreling and the 25years old felt it wasn't healthy for a relationship of four years, thinking of how almost all her friends were getting married, Tola couldn't place why David was yet to pop the question despite being 30years old and having a good job. They had both met during their service year in Ibadan, David whose talkative nature disgusted her initially paved way into her heart when they were posted to same secondary school to teach, he was very kind to her and always made her laugh, soon she got to start seeing him in a different light, they had become close and it wasn't long before they started dating. She smiled as she remembered their "first time" together, she had heard from a lot of her friends how painful it was to get deflowered, it was quite different for her, David was gentle with her and she was surprised at how her friends had exaggerated it. David had become a very big part of her life under four years, she learnt a lot of things from him and always trusted his judgment, why they were always having problems of recent was quite confusing to her, she knew she loved him and was convinced he loved her too but she wanted to get more serious with the relationship, Dami had called her last week to tell her about her wedding and that she would be her maid of honor, she couldn't say no but she really was tired of standing for people, she wanted to get married too, worse of all she had the longest relationship. Dami and Richards dated for just a year, Diola dated Fred for two years and they were now married. What of Helen? Helen got married to their lecturer the year they graduated, all these people and many more friends, she was their chief bridesmaid, she recalled her cousin asking her jokingly, "aunty Tola when will you be the bride and not bridesmaid" she had laughed it off but she felt the pain, she knew sooner or later, her parents would ask same question but not in a joking manner.
"madam no be here you dey go?".........the heavily marked yoruba cab driver asked. she gave him his fare as she shut the door behind her. Exhaling as she walked into the compound, she saw her boyfriend's car, climbing the stairs to her boyfriend's apartment, she stopped to adjust her black gown........
"see my guy I love Tola but eh"..............came a male voice
".....but what brotherly? shuuu you sef get problem o, you have been with this girl for four years, are you saying she's not good for marriage?"..........another male voice asked
"no not at all, she's my kind of woman but marriage is not for me my man, coming from a broken home, I don't want my kids to go through what I went through"
Tola was shocked, wait so she's been dating David for fun for four years, she knew about his parents, they divorced when David and his big sister were kids, they grew up with their maternal grandmother as their parents both remarried and started new families, David hardly talks to his parents unlike his sister who forgave them long ago.
